Local museum seeks continuation of 6¢ levy for operations on November ballot

A museum representative told the Crook County Board that a proposed five-year tax levy at 6¢ per $1,000 will be placed on the November ballot to support daily operations, preservation and facility maintenance; outreach plans include a fair booth and banner to alert voters.

Sean, speaking during the public-comment portion of the July 22 work session, asked the board to expect a ballot measure in November to continue funding the local museum with a five-year tax levy of "6¢ per thousand." He said the levy helps "support our day to day operations, covers facility maintenance, staff, collection management, and the preservation of Cook County history." Sean added the levy makes up "about 0.333 of our budget," making it an important revenue source for the museum.
