Commissioners note mosquito surveillance found 11 West Nile–positive samples
County officials announced the DEP mosquito surveillance summary showing 11 mosquito samples positive for West Nile virus, with the highest prevalence reported in Ingmarrow; the report will be available in the county office.

Chair called attention to correspondence including a DEP annual mosquito surveillance report for Cameron County and said the report "included mosquitoes positive for West Nile virus because there were 11." The Chair said sampling took place in July, August and September and that copies of the report are available in the county office for anyone who wants to review the locations and sample counts.
