Mobile crisis team pitches expanded coverage to Casper council
Central Wyoming Counseling Center representatives told the council their mobile crisis unit is operating across Casper and neighboring towns and asked the city to finalize an MOU and coordination with first responders; staff said grant funding was awarded but whether opioid funds are directly supporting the project was unclear.

The City of Casper council heard a presentation from the Central Wyoming Counseling Center’s mobile crisis team on July 21, 2026. Jason Merrick, introduced himself as part of the team and said the unit responds to mental-health crises, overdoses and suicidal ideation and can transport people to local treatment resources.
