The council reviewed and approved an updated cooperative agreement with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands that keeps the town in a statewide fire protection program originally signed in 2017. Mike Erickson, the Division representative, described the agreement as a low-cost “insurance policy” that helps pay firefighting costs if a district defaults and said the town’s match is small.
