Secretary of State Marco Rubio said deindustrialization was a policy choice and that reversing it requires government, higher education and the private sector to repurpose institutions to produce skilled workers. "Deindustrialization was a choice and reindustrialization must now be ours," Rubio said, urging universities to equip students with immediately employable skills.
