Delaware County public defender reports falling jail population, expanded services
Public Defender Owen Taylor Dunn told county council the office handled 5,884 new cases in 2025, staffed 78 people, and saw the jail population drop to about 966 — a more than 50% reduction — while juvenile detentions fell by over 90% compared with 2014.
