Board hears progress update: four drainage sites under construction, completion expected by end of July

Charlie Krebs told the Board that all four drainage sites are under construction, with clearing and silt fences in place, sod piles staged and fill dirt and grading completed in Turnberry. He reported Palmetto Dunes is expected to be completed by the end of the week and that pipe installation in Oak Run is scheduled for the week of June 29, 2026; sod will likely be installed in Turnberry and Palmetto Dunes the week of July 2, 2026, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of July if grading is finished on schedule.

Krebs said a total of twelve affected trees in Palmetto Dunes will need to be removed and replaced (mostly slash pines and two red maples) and declining Royal Poinciana trees will be replaced. He noted that six Cabbage Palms in Oak Run must be removed and replanted and that some irrigation pipe repairs and additional cart path repairs will be required. A contractor struck an A/C coolant line during clearing; Operations staff repaired the line and will fund the unexpected repair from contingency. Mr. Krebs will provide a log of additional costs for inclusion in the next agenda.
