Council approved putting out a short request for information (RFI) to prospective solid-waste and recycling haulers ahead of a summer 2026 contract bidding process. Council members said the RFI will ask haulers about capacity, pickup timing and options designed to attract a broader set of bidders, including smaller operators that still provide manual collection service where robotic collection is inappropriate for older neighborhoods.
