The clerk read House Bill 5503: "An act designating a certain bridge in the City of Gardiner as the representative Robert L. Rice Jr. Bridge." Mr. Walsh of Peabody offered a multi-part amendment — inserting the word "bridge," adding maintenance language, striking a section, and adding an emergency preamble — and the chair recorded adoption: "The amendment is adopted." The bill then passed to be engrossed as amended.
