Planner staff read Goal 2 (support land‑use patterns that protect forests and agricultural lands) and enumerated objectives such as minimizing incompatible land uses and preserving forestry and agriculture viability. Committee members expressed concern that language about lot‑size reduction could conflict with zoning committee work and with landowners' ability to subdivide in growing towns; one member said the county's current lot‑size minimum is 30,000 square feet (about 0.667 acres).
