Developers from Shasta Power described a decommissioning bond—an industry insurance product intended to cover removal and site reclamation—as the primary safeguard if a project ceases operating. "There's a decommissioning bond that we would put in place to make sure that if, for whatever reason, our company was no longer salient, the decommissioning bond would be in place," Boris Feldman said during the March 30 meeting.
