PacificSource PACE says federal changes could open services to veterans in Lane County

PacificSource PACE explained the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) model to the committee and said the Elizabeth Dole Act expansion could allow the VA to cover PACE services; local operators estimate 50–220 Lane County veterans may qualify when the VA operationalizes the change.

PacificSource PACE representatives told legislators the PACE model provides a team-based, capitated approach to long-term care that can reduce institutionalization and coordinate Medicare/Medicaid benefits. Rick Blackwell introduced the program and Dr. Jessica Van Fleet Green, chief medical officer, outlined eligibility, services and financing.
