Committee asks nominees to submit written testimony after technical failure erased early remarks
Committee staff announced a recording failure that affected several early witnesses and instructed affected nominees to submit written testimony so the public record would be complete.

Shortly after resuming at 9:05 a.m., the chair told the committee that earlier testimony had not been recorded because of technical issues. "We had technical issues and none of the testimony that we have received has been recorded," the chair said, and the committee asked the four nominees whose remarks were lost to submit written testimony to the committee record.
