Nutter Fort council approves first reading to repeal outdated smoke-detector code

On Sept. 10, 2024 the Nutter Fort Town Council approved the first reading of Ordinance 2024-10, repealing Article 1511 of the town code related to smoke detectors to bring the codified ordinances up to current standards; the vote was unanimous.

Mayor Sam Maxson presided as the council took up Ordinance 2024-10, described by staff as "necessary to bring the codified ordinances to present day standards." Councilor Charlene Louk moved to approve the ordinance on first reading; Councilor Karen Phillips seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
