County Auditor Dan McArthur told the Board of Fire Commissioners on Jan. 20 that Department of Taxation guidance and Nevada statute treat medium‑term financing repaid over more than 12 months as general obligation debt in many cases, which would trigger a requirement to levy a property tax rate to repay that debt.
