The Macon County Board approved contracts to build a new pickleball complex after staff recommended separating the work into a site contract (grading, restrooms, paving) and a specialty court contract. Joe Allen, planning director, reported a low site bid from Buchanan & Sons, Inc. at $1,301,000 and a court package quote at $2,313,548.15; an optional lighting add for the remaining courts was shown as $169,746.94. The board included a 10% contingency and approved associated budget amendments to move funds from fund balance as needed.
