Council pulled the 321 Main Street mural from the consent agenda to discuss whether preparatory work should begin prior to official word on a $10,000 grant. The project’s proponents asked to start mapping and chalking the mural in anticipation of an Art Harvest appearance this fall. The council emphasized transparency and financial prudence: the city previously committed a $10,000 match and the outstanding question was whether the city would begin visible work before the grant result returned.
