Dubuque County supervisors continue data‑center ordinance work after public comments

During an Aug. 31 work session the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors heard public concerns about map accuracy, enforcement, and setbacks for a proposed data center, agreed to circulate a citizen‑draft ordinance to the Zoning Commission, and asked staff for multiple setback map options including a 1,364‑foot buffer.

The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors met in a work session on Aug. 31 to continue drafting a countywide data‑center ordinance and to hear public comment on mapping, setbacks and enforcement. Chair (speaker 2) opened the meeting and received three public commenters who emphasized map accuracy and enforcement before the board moved into a formal staff presentation on the planning framework.
