The commission reviewed and recommended approval of the final plat for Newton Acres, a minor subdivision that reconfigures existing legal descriptions north of Bernard along Highway 151. Zoning staff said the parcel met Dubuque County's farm-exemption criteria under Iowa Code 335.2 and county subdivision rules because the operation maintains more than 40 acres in agricultural production and provided Schedule F tax returns showing agricultural expenditures.
