The Middlefield Selectboard on Aug. 5, 2026, heard competing accounts in a dangerous-dog matter arising from a July 17 attack in which the Longobardis' dog Rugby was injured. Ann Marie Visconti, Selectboard Chair, swore in all parties before the hearing began. Complainants Alfonso and Maureen Longobardi requested postponement and fuller records; Maureen Longobardi read a victim impact statement and provided veterinary billing and prior-incident accounts.
