Monticello officials review park-dedication rules as master plan is updated
City, planning and parks leaders met Jan. 6 to review a consultant's analysis of the park-dedication ordinance and seek policy direction on four topics: PUDs, multi-family projects, commercial/industrial development, and how trails are credited.

At a Jan. 6 special joint meeting, members of the Monticello City Council, Planning Commission and PAR Commission reviewed an analysis of the city's park-dedication ordinance as staff and a consultant prepare to align the ordinance with a new Park Master Plan. Community Development Director Angela Schumann said the ordinance is governed by state statute and was last updated in 2009, and that the City has contracted with Grittman Consulting to evaluate potential changes.
