Committee flags concerns over proposed access road for future well on conserved land
Townsend committee members said there is currently no road and raised concerns that upgrading a future access road for a well could harm habitat; they agreed such surface upgrades would be addressed in the water department's permitting process.

Committee members clarified that there is no existing road to the proposed well site on the conserved property and that any access road would be built later when the water department pursues its own permit. One committee member said: "For this, we have concerns if the road surface were upgraded."
