Centertown board amends minimum housing bill to clarify yard-coverage rule

The Village of Centertown gave a first reading to Bill No. 0025-007 (Minimum Housing Standards) and approved an amendment to Section 17.B.4 requiring yards under one acre to be covered with adequate lawn or ground cover not to exceed six inches; the amendment was approved for second reading Nov. 13.

The Village of Centertown Board of Trustees held the first reading by title only of Bill No. 0025-007, the village’s proposed Minimum Housing Standards, at its Oct. 28 meeting. Chairman Pro Tem Heather Hunger made the motion for first reading; Trustee Paula Hinshaw moved an amendment to change Section 17.B.4 (Open Areas — Yards) and Trustee Hunger seconded the amendment.
