After the Johns Lake vote the commission unanimously approved annexation and rezoning ordinances for a West Colonial Drive parcel, amended industrial-use rules (26-16), and approved a Juneteenth community celebration at Charlie May Wilder Park on June 20.

Following the Johns Lake PUD vote, the commission considered three related items—an annexation, a future land-use amendment and a rezoning for a 0.44-acre West Colonial Drive property (Ordinances 26-13, 26-14 and 26-15). Staff described the applicant’s intent to annex the parcel, assign a commercial future land-use designation and rezone it to a city commercial district; the applicant indicated plans to pursue a digital billboard under the city's billboard-reduction program if annexation and rezoning are approved. The commission voted unanimously to approve those items.
