Lemon Grove to submit three programs for CSBA Golden Bell awards

May 13, 2026

The board voted to submit three district programs — Monterey Heights' Gizmos and Gadgets, Lemon Grove Middle's CTE program, and the district teacher residency program — for the California School Boards Association Golden Bell awards; applications are due at the end of June.

The full story

Superintendent Vincent presented three district programs for nomination to the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Awards and recommended submitting all three: Monterey Heights’ Gizmos and Gadgets (STEM/STEAM), Lemon Grove Middle’s career technical education program, and the district’s teacher residency program (a pipeline for special-education teachers led by coordinator Leanne Gotegno). Vincent noted the district could submit a maximum of three programs annually and that the teacher residency program aims at teacher recruitment and retention.
