During the public comment period at the July 28 meeting, a string of residents and community groups pressed the Board of Supervisors for greater transparency, accountability and oversight. Speakers raised several recurring themes: concern over repeated contract change orders (notably the Mount Zion sewer project), the county's financial management and a pending forensic audit, and uncertainty about whether the county's zoning allows data centers by right and with insufficient public notice.
