The Parke County Board of Commissioners voted to adopt Ordinance 2026-19, declaring a local disaster emergency for the storm that passed through the county on Aug. 11, 2026. Chair moved to sign the declaration to facilitate recovery efforts and potential state and FEMA assistance; a commissioner seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote.
