Council considered and approved an ordinance motion adopting the property tax levy and fixing the maintenance-and-operations tax rate for FY 2026–27. During the item a council member moved that "the property tax be decreased by the adoption of tax rate of 0.866000 per $100," which was seconded and approved by the council.
