County staff reported on April 7 that, in the current fiscal year, Dallas County has received 556 reports alleging child abuse; 371 of those were accepted for investigation and 263 were substantiated as child abuse, an acceptance ratio of 66.73 percent. The board discussed the annual Child Abuse Prevention Proclamation and outreach actions.
