Council approves Summit Storage overlay rezone to allow telecommunications facility
The council approved Ordinance 2026-29 to rezone a small overlay square on a Summit Storage parcel to permit a telecommunications facility; planning staff noted the applicant will still need CUP exemptions for height and setbacks.

Planning staff presented the Summit Storage rezone request for a small (~1,200 sq. ft.) overlay area on a six-acre agricultural parcel adjacent to Valley View Highway. Staff said the overlay allows a telecommunications facility in that square and that the planning commission recommended approval 5–0 on Aug. 13, 2026. The applicant will later request conditional-use-permit exemptions for tower height and setbacks during the CUP process.
