The Marion County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation on Sept. 2 designating September 2026 as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in Marion County. Health and Human Services staff Laura Sprouse and Kelly Martin presented the proclamation during the board session; Commissioner Danielle Bethell moved for approval and Commissioner Kevin Cameron seconded. The motion carried with both commissioners voting aye; Commissioner Colm Willis was absent.
