Commissioners spent the bulk of their meeting discussing whether small-scale commercial accessory structures should be allowed to bypass the county Development Review Committee (DRC). Staff read seven considerations — conformity, primary use, maximum square footage, compatibility with surrounding uses, adherence to land development code requirements even if bypassed, limits on bypass frequency, and a prohibition on granting variances for bypassed projects — and commissioners agreed directionally with the approach.
