Avery County reports 18 of 21 FEMA projects complete; debris projects progressing
County Manager Cindy Turbyfill reported Avery County has 21 FEMA projects (excluding debris) in the grant portal; 18 are complete and funds have been obligated. Four debris projects remain in various stages, and staff expect two debris projects to be obligated by the end of the week; funds typically arrive about 60 days after obligation.

County Manager Cindy Turbyfill updated the board that Avery County has 21 FEMA projects (excluding debris) in the federal grant portal; 18 of those projects are complete and the money for them has been obligated. Of four debris projects, one is ready for obligation, one is at Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) review, and two are in the Consolidated Resource Center (CRC) with one almost finished.
