Panel debates $3 million mobile command replacement vs. trailer alternative

Committee members proposed conditional approvals and staged funding: one supervisor suggested phasing funding across 2027-2029 or setting a $1 million placeholder in 2027 pending grant applications and further vendor information.

The committee did not finalize purchase but agreed to allow further research and to seek answers by the September Ways and Means meeting, including a five-year use log, vendor lead times, prepayment requirements and grant prospects; several members said they could support a conditioned move forward if the follow-up data justified it.
