Local childcare provider asks county to press Job and Family Services for retroactive payments

During public comment on Aug. 25, Vickie Shurelds of Daddy's at Work Child Care told the Board that the Department of Job and Family Services has not placed eligible children on her agency's roster, preventing the organization from obtaining state payments for those children. She requested that Job and Family Services place eligible children on the roster immediately, initiate payment for childcare dating to May 26, 2026, and provide a timeline for resolution.
