Commission approves after‑the‑fact permit for Colorful Concepts; owners must reduce impervious coverage
The commission approved an after-the-fact conditional use permit for Colorful Concepts (John and Lynn Berger) with a compliance agreement requiring impervious lot coverage be reduced below 25% by Oct. 1 and a limit of four nonresident employees on site at any time. The approval will go to the County Board on July 14.

The Planning Commission unanimously approved an after‑the‑fact conditional use permit for Colorful Concepts, a painting business operated by John and Lynn Berger at 38922 County Road 1 in Sartell. Staff said the business began operating in 2014 without a permit; the property is partly in R5 and partly in R1 zoning and currently exceeds the 25% maximum impervious coverage (26.4%).
