The applicant's engineer said the BESS project will reduce impervious coverage on the tract, but board professionals corrected the estimate and noted much of the removal occurs on county-owned land; the board requested testing of exported stone/topsoil and clarity on which reductions are on the applicant's parcel.

Project engineer Greg Stuyves testified the proposal will remove existing stone and reduce impervious coverage on the property. He initially stated the removal amounted to about 30,000 square feet but later acknowledged that the plan-sheet numbers put the net reduction closer to about 22,000 square feet.
