David Bernstein briefed the committee on past and current legislative efforts he’s worked on, including Wayland’s home‑rule petitions and multiple statewide bills that would permit remote or hybrid town meetings. Bernstein said many of the bills have been sent to study and that progress has been slow; he described a possible compromise of a small pilot for a handful of towns to demonstrate feasibility.
