Barnstable reports roughly $7.6M in summer facilities and tech projects across district
Facilities staff presented a detailed update on summer capital work — doors, PA and phone systems, HVAC/DDC controllers, playground and roof repairs, a culinary-classroom renovation and tennis/pickleball court work — and provided a $7.6M districtwide spending estimate for 2026 projects.

Doug (speaker 8), the facilities presenter, gave a rundown of capital and maintenance work in the district this summer, school by school. He listed projects including exterior doors and hardware at Barnstable Community Innovation School, new PA and phone systems and DDC HVAC controls at multiple elementary schools, demolition and landscaping at Centerville Elementary, HVAC and chiller work at Barnstable United Elementary, and a culinary‑classroom renovation and AV upgrades at Barnstable High School.
