The Stuart City Commission voted unanimously Aug. 3 to move Ordinance No. 2553-2026 to a second reading after amending the text to add the word "ballot" and correct clerical errors. The ordinance would add a charter provision requiring any sale, conveyance, or lease for more than one year of city-owned property containing recreational ball fields to be first approved by voters through a public referendum.
