The board approved a year‑long contract for cybersecurity services with consultant Ryan Hertzinger to support vulnerability assessments, a real‑time dashboard and staff cybersecurity training for 2026–27. Dr. Castro told the board the consultant was selected after staff review and that contracting was chosen over hiring a full‑time staff member because of current budget constraints.
