The board adopted Resolution No. 260819c authorizing the superintendent to designate credentialed teachers with comparable experience to teach transitional kindergarten under California Education Code Section 48000(g). Staff explained the local definition includes a minimum of six early childhood education units plus one year of professional experience (intern, resident, student teacher or classroom teacher) as a comparable path to the 24 ECE units typically required by CDE guidance.
