John Pearl, principal of Battle Ground Elementary and Intermediate, and Assistant Principal Haley Aird presented the school’s teacher induction program — nicknamed “Newbies” — at the board meeting. Pearl said the program paired nine new teachers (across year 1 and year 2 cohorts) with veteran staff, and that meetings were held weekly on Wednesday mornings to focus on classroom management, lesson planning and parent communication.
