CAL FIRE pilots 'Vibrant Planet' decision tool to help prioritize CWPP projects
CAL FIRE representatives told the HCFSC that the Vibrant Planet decision-support tool is being trialed in five units and one contract county to help identify priority project areas using public datasets, and that the platform can be used to align with county planning units and funding opportunities.

Chris Ramey of CAL FIRE described the CWPP Toolkit, the CWPP database concept, and a pilot of the Vibrant Planet decision-support tool that five units and one contract county are currently trialing. "Vibrant Planet is a decision support tool that takes publicly available data allowing the user to adjust priorities and identify areas/projects of high importance," Ramey said, and CAL FIRE confirmed the tool can be used at local planning scales to overlap with CWPP priority action plans.
