Manistee highlights five redevelopment priority sites after RRC recertification
Economic development staff told the council the city was first certified as a Redevelopment Ready Community in 2017 and recertified in 2021 and 2025, and identified five priority redevelopment sites including the Gateway Project and the former Wahr Hardware site at 87 Division Street.

Manistee's economic development staff told the study session the city has a multi-year commitment to Redevelopment Ready Communities (RRC) work and has completed recent recertification. "The City of Manistee began working towards RRC certification in 2016 and became a certified Redevelopment Ready Community in 2017. The City was recertified in 2021 and 2025," Andrew Stafford, Economic Development Director, told the group.
