Consultant presents 3,000-acre economic development plan focused on site readiness and infrastructure

American Structurepoint presented a Miami County economic development plan targeting about 3,000 acres along US-31/US-24 for industries such as radiological medicine manufacturing, food and beverage, logistics, aerospace and tourism. The plan recommends major utility upgrades (for example, upsizing a 15-inch wastewater line in Peru to 24 inches) and strategic actions including a county CIP and pursuit of an Economic Development District designation.

Matt Roark of American Structurepoint presented the Miami County Economic Development Authority’s new plan, describing it as a roadmap to improve site readiness for roughly 3,000 acres targeted along the US-31/US-24 corridors. Roark identified five target industries: radiological medicine manufacturing, food and beverage manufacturing, supply chain logistics, aerospace (design, maintenance, testing) and tourism.
