Newton County Commissioners approved a work-based learning agreement March 24 between Newton County, local training providers and Workforce Solutions (Jasper office). The program is intended to place participants in county departments to perform maintenance and other duties while receiving training; the county judge's office and department heads were directed to coordinate participation.
