After two motions failed for lack of a second, the board voted 3–2 to award the county's annual audit contract to Forvis Mazars; Supervisors Hall, Zirkelbach and Oswald supported the award while Schlarmann and Swisher voted no.

The Jones County Board of Supervisors voted to award the county's annual audit services contract to Forvis Mazars following a split roll-call vote on Sept. 1, 2026. The winning motion, moved by Supervisor Hall and seconded by Supervisor Zirkelbach, passed with three ayes and two nays.
