Consultant presents draft comprehensive plan update; public hearing set for Sept. 21

Cecile Gaines, representing the Berkley Group, presented the draft update to the Berkeley County Comprehensive Plan during the Aug. 17 joint work session. Gaines said the process began in April 2025, spans roughly two years, and the draft plan includes nine chapters with strategies and goals. She told the commission the draft plan is posted on the county website for public review and asked commissioners and staff to submit final edits by Aug. 27, 2026.
