The council voted to authorize purchase of laptops for council members not to exceed $4,000 (motion by Councilor Ivette Reing, seconded by Councilor Liza Root) and approved buying two firewalls for City Hall and the Liquor Store. Shaun Hainey will set up the laptops before the current contract ends and will notify VC3 to end contracted services; he said he would leave a list of recommended local vendors to handle future IT needs rather than entering a long-term IT contract.
